Joe A,

Welcome back to the comments section, Joe!

Yes, totally agreed. While I'm not looking forward to the JJ talk this offseason, I do think it would be wise for the Marlins to listen to offers and keep their eyes open. If what Peter Gammons/Buster Olney are saying is right and the Marlins are looking to see if they're competitive this season before considering a trade, I'd like to see the team stop skimping on the roster and at least make some smart short-term moves. And of course, that means not re-upping players like Ross Gload and trying to find any sort of value for Jorge Cantu.

Hey Michael, you forgot to mention Cantu's stellar defense. lol. Seriously though, I don't hate him as a player but I think there are better options for his 5 mil. This offseason has been trying so far. The Yankee, Red Sox, and Dodger fans are drooling over JJ at MLBtraderumors.com. Sigh. Here we go again.
