Matt,

No problem, I wanted to get the word out about what we discussed. Hopefully, you, JJ, and the team can come to a mutual agreement on an extension, so that us fans can return to just enjoying JJ's work.

Michael,

Thanks for writing such an even piece. You conveyed exactly what I was trying to get across in our conversation. Wishing you and the site well this year.

Mike,

I'm not a big believer in the HR rates just yet. I don't know if he can keep the ball on the ground with his swing-and-miss repertoire. That and we've only seen one season of 5-win play. Can't project any more than that just yet, I think. He's still young, but I'd have to see it first. Right now, I'd put him down for 4-4.5 WAR (that's like a defense-independent 3.5 RA/9 in 180+ inn.) and wait to see more.

Michael,

solid piece, just curious why you do not see JJ in the 6-7 WAR range for the next 3-5 years? He commands two true swing and misses pitches and has above avg command and he keeps the ball down in the zone to produce worm killers.
