Dan Uggla traded to Braves for paltry amount

If you’ve been following, I’ve been on Twitter all day following various bits of news. For the last hour, there has been a persistent rumor of a trade between the Marlins and the Atlanta Braves which would send All-Star Dan Uggla over to Atlanta for Omar Infante and reliever Mike Dunn. Apparently, such a deal has been completed according to Jerry Crasnick:

Braves deal is complete. It’s Dan Uggla to Atlanta for Omar Infante and Mike Dunn.

Lots to talk about regarding the move, but I don’t have the time at the moment. I’ll be getting to it more tomorrow and in the next few days, but if you want a quick summary opinion: it’s bad, pretty bad. The Twitter is abuzz as to how bad, but I think Infante is worth surprisingly more than people are giving him credit. Still, we’re losing on the deal, and it isn’t helping our front office’s credibility. More on this later.
