Marlins, Reyes agree to six-year deal

The Miami Marlins finally got their big prize; on late Sunday night, a day before the Winter Meetings, the Marlins have reportedly agreed to terms with free agent shortstop José Reyes on a six-year, $106 million deal. Reyes, 28, will man the shortstop position while Marlins’ franchise player Hanley Ramirez will likely shift to third base.

This is the second big free agent signing the Marlins have had in three days. On Thursday night the Marlins reportedly agreed to terms with closer Heath Bell on a three-year, $27 million deal with a vesting fourth-year option. Only time will tell if the Marlins are done shopping or if they will put the cherry on top by signing lefty Mark Buehrle or C.J. Wilson.

Congrats! Great addition to an already very talented, underrated team.

I’d steer clear of Wilson but another quality starter would be a BIG pickup!
