We will continue today on the Marlins 1997 v. 2003 series. We took a look at the Florida Marlins best catcher of the two World Championship teams. Ivan Rodriguez won that nod easily. Here is a look at the results of the best first basemen voted by the fans:

This was a lot closer then I had anticipated. Derrick Lee clearly had the better numbers. It probably has a lot to do with the fan sentiment of Jeff Conine. Marlins fans are known for giving him a lot of love as he is known as “Mr. Marlin.”
Once again, the fan vote counts as two points. Each and every MarlinManiac writer choose Derrick Lee as well. Thus, Lee swept the voting and is the Marlins best first basemen on a World Series team.
Tomorrow, I will open up the poll on who was the better second baseman for the Marlins World Series teams? Was it Luis Castillo or Craig Counsell?
