Down on the Farm Report for the Miami Marlins: June 25th:
The Grasshoppers were rained out, the Hammerheads offense laid a hammer on the Stone Crabs, Adam Conley continued to pitch well, and Kyle Jensen went deep for the first time in Triple-A, despite a Z’s loss.
New Orleans Zephyrs (40-40) vs. Nashville Sounds (27-52)
Kyle Jensen, LF: 2-for-4, HR (1), RBI, R, SO
Matt Downs, 3B: 2-for-3, 2 HR (8), 2 RBI, 2 R, BB
Matt Neil, SP: 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, BB, 4 SO
Jonathan Albaladejo, RP: 0.1 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, BB
Despite five solo home runs and a decent start from Matt Neil, the Zephyrs were unable to beat the Sounds due to a late game implosion from their bullpen. Jonathan Albaladejo allowed three hits and walked a batter, leading to a five run eight inning. Four of those five runs were charged to Albaldejo. The loss dropped the Z’s back to .500 for the season.
Jacksonville Suns (39-35) @ Mobile BayBears (42-34)
Taylor Krick, C: 2-for-4, 2B (3), 3 RBI, R
Zack Cox, 3B: 2-for-3, 2B (7), BB, R, 2 SO
Adam Conley, SP: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO
Michael Brady, RP: 2.0 IP, H, 3 SO, SV (11)
Behind another impressive Adam Conley start, the Suns were able to pick up a win to even their series with Mobile at 1. Although Conley allowed 8 base runners in his five innings of work, he was able to pick up crucial strikeouts when he needed them the most to limit the damage.
High Class A:
Jupiter Hammerheads (38-36) @ Charlotte Stone Crabs (31-42)
Alex Burg, RF: 4-for-5, 2B (8), HR (2), 4 RBI, 2 R, BB
Josh Adams, 3B: 3-for-4, 2B (8), HR (5), 5 RBI, R, BB, SO
Josh Hodges, SP: 5.0 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO, HR
Pete Andrelczyk, RP: 2.0 IP, 3 H, 4 SO
Josh Hodges did not have his best stuff, surrendering five earned runs on seven hits in his five innings of work. Luckily for him, his offense, led by Burg and Adams, were able to drive in a combined nine runs en route to a blowout win. The victory improved Jupiter to two games over .500 for the season.
Low Class A:
Greensboro Grasshoppers (35-39) @ Hickory Crawdads (42-33)
