Triple-A:

Oklahoma City RedHawks (48-41) @ New Orleans Zephyrs (43-47)

Postponed, Rain

Double-A:

Jacksonville Suns (43-41) @ Chattanooga Lookouts (44-43)

Loss 1-2 (Completed Game from 6/5)

Taylor Krick, C: 1-for-2, HR (1), R, RBI, BB, SO

Jake Marisnick, CF: 2-for-4, SO

Sam Dyson, SP: 3.0 IP, 3 H, R, 3 SO

Adam Conley, SP: 4.0 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 3 SO

Catcher Krick hit his first home run of the season, which ended up being the lone run the Suns scored on the day. The team lost despite solid outings from both Dyson and Conley. Part of that is because the offense struck out a combined 15 times and only collected 6 hits.

High Class A:

Palm Beach Cardinals (38-46) @ Jupiter Hammerheads (43-41)

Loss 1-3

Christian Yelich, CF: 0-for-4, 2 SO

Chris Valaika, 1B: 1-for-4, SO

Justin Nicolino, SP: 6.0 IP, 9 H, ER, 4 SO

Miguel Fermin, RP: 2.0 IP, 3 SO

Nicolino did not have his best stuff in this one, as he surrendered nine hits and only struck out four hitters in six innings of work. The nine hits he allowed were a season high, but he still owns a sparkling 1.13 ERA in his previous 10 starts and a 2.13 ERA for the season. Yelich went hitless in the game, dropping his average .217 for his rehab stint with the Hammerheads. Yelich likely won’t see his expected promotion to the big leagues until at least late August.

Low Class A:

Lakewood BlueClaws (32-53) @ Greensboro Grasshoppers (41-45)

Loss 7-10

Yordy Cabrera, 3B: 2-for-3, BB

Viosergy Rosa, DH: 1-for-4, HR (19), R, 2 RBI, 2 SO

Chad James, SP: 4.0 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, BB, 3 SO, HR

Chipper Smith, RP: 1.1 IP, H, 2 SO

Making his fourth start of the season, Chad James was knocked around to a tune of five runs on six hits in just four innings of work. James, the Marlins former first round pick, saw his ERA balloon to 7.94 after the rough start. He has allowed 10 earned runs and 16 hits in just 11 innings of work so far this season.

New York-Penn League:

Batavia Muckdogs (8-10) @ Jamestown Jammers (13-6)

Loss 3-10

Austin Dean, LF: 2-for-4, 3B (5), R

Avery Romero, 2B: 2-for-4, 2 RBI

Max Garner, SP: 4.0 IP, 5 H, R, 4 SO

James Wooster, RP: 0.1 IP, 6 H, 7 ER, BB

Wooster retired just one hitter and allowed seven runs, as the Jammers were able to capitalize on his mistakes to run away with this game. On a bright note, Romero (.394/.444/.530) and Dean (.268/.342/.465) continue to show why they were top four round picks just a year ago with strong hitting.
