So this is the first Sunday back after the All-Star break and we begin with The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. How did the Marlins fare against the Brewers? Let’s jump into the quick recap– The Good: Adeiny Hechavarria; The Bad: we loss and 37 innings; and The Ugly: batter 3, 4, and 5 slump. Let’s exam these points a little more shall we?

The Good:

Adeiny Hechavarria went 2-5 this game with 2 singles, continuing his hot hitting. He went 6-12 this series being the only bright spot of the Marlins’ hitting this series because the Marlins have gone…

The Bad:

…37 innings without scoring a run. This goes all the way back to the 5th inning of the Nationals’ game on July 14, creating a new Franchise record. With that said, the Marlins lost this game 1-0 in the 13th with a walk off homerun to Caleb Gindl by Ryan Webb. However, this win gave the Brewers the sweep. The Ugly:

The 3, 4, and 5 hitters are in a massive slump! Giancarlo Stanton, Logan Morrison, and Marcell Ozuna are combined for a 1-38 with 7 SO this series. If the Marlins expect to win, the heart of the order need to come alive and I think they will in Colorado tomorrow.

Tomorrow we start a 4 game series with the Rockies, who the Marlins have been known to do well against when they play in Colorado. Expect for this scoreless slump and hitting slump to end. Until then, as always, keep the faith and Let’s Go Marlins!
