This work week features the Marlins clashing with a three game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, perhaps a World Series favorite. Before the home stand ended, the Marlins honored 2003’s championship team. And while we’re all older and fatter than we were ten years ago, (looking at you, Josh Beckett) the celebration was as close to a sincerely triumphant moment this year’s Marlins will get.
It seems that during the ten-year celebration this Sunday, Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun-Sentinel had a nice chat with former manager Jack McKeon, and made a neat story out of it. McKeon, the essence of “Old-School,” gives some very blunt remarks about the current Marlins compared to his championship run.

Miami’s first-round draft pick from 2012 enjoyed an impressive month of July during his first few outings in AA-Jaxsonville. Andrew Heaney had dished out 33 scoreless innings before allowing three runs in the first inning of his most recent start. The Suns also dropped an 11-game winning streak that night, losing to the Tennessee Smokies.
“Logan Morrison is good again!” says the Miami Herald.
