Marlins Way: Greinke Sits Down the Marlins

In case you forgot, Zach Greinke is pretty good. After giving up a random Giancarlo Stanton bomb in the first inning, he sat down every other Marlin but two. In fact, the Dodgers have enjoyed winning Greinke starts since July 25th. During this run, he’s lowered his ERA a half point and allowed just five runs. Los Angeles pitching has turned what seemed to be a promising series full of narratives (Puig/Fernandez, Giancarlo’s struggles/Brian Wilson) into a boring pummel. Things don’t get easier for the Marlins tonight as they face NL Cy Young contender Clayton Kershaw.

Greg Stoda: Behavior of L.A. Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig, who hits winning HR on Tuesday, cause for some concern | Palm Beach Post

The trivial discussion on Yasiel Puig’s performance that doesn’t include a triple slash has finally spread into South Florida and it follows the strange pattern of writers seemingly being mad that Puig has fun while kicking ass. One interesting note from this read is that Puig apparently parties with fellow athletic freak of nature LeBron James.
