Washington Nationals @ Miami Marlins Game Preview 9/6

In his final two starts of the season, Jose Fernandez will be making his second career start against two divisional foes. First up will be the Washington Nationals on Friday night. More than likely, the Marlins will limit Jose to just six innings in this one to ensure he has one more start in 2013.

On the season, Fernandez has been dominant at home, with a 2.12 FIP, with a strikeout rate of over 10, in 84 innings at Marlins Park. Jose missed out on being named the pitcher of the month of August, despite posting a major league best 1.71 FIP in 39 innings of work, striking out 49.

The Nationals will counter with veteran starter Dan Haren. After a rough start to the season, Haren posted six quality starts in eight starts, before having his worst start of the season last time out. Haren surrendered seven earned runs on nine hits in less than 3 innings of work against the New York Mets last time out.
