Miami Marlins Breaking News: Larry Beinfest Fired!

According to several media reports, Miami Marlins President of Baseball Operations Larry Beinfest has been fired.

Beinfest had been rumored to be feuding with Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria for the past several months about personnel moves.  Loria had reportedly taken over all baseball decisions as of late with both Beinfest and General Manager Michael Hill seemingly being stripped of all power in the organization.

Loria has been listening to the counsel of  assistant General Manager Den Jennings lately and he is the favorite to take over Bienfest’s position.  According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, Jennings has already been given the go ahead to start putting together a staff.

Beinfest came to the Marlins from the Montreal Expos in 2002 as part of the move by Loria to purchase the team.  He presided over the 2003 World Championship team and the two fire sales that have taken place since.  Beinfest is generally well regarded throughout the baseball industry.
