Orlando, Florida is the site of the 2013 General Managers Meetings set to take place starting today and running through Wednesday. For those of you not familiar with the event, it basically gives executives from all 30 MLB clubs a chance to get together and discuss potential trades up close and personal.

Of course the Miami Marlins will be watched closely during the next few days, both for their propensity to engage in blockbuster trades, and the current situation surrounding the Marlins star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton.

While GM Jennings continues to claim that Stanton is untouchable, much of that may just be smoke and mirrors attempting to drive the price up. We expect more information to come out during these meetings as reports will certainly break regarding Miami’s willingness to engage in discussions regarding Stanton.

Owner Jeffrey Loria has also claimed that he is looking to upgrade the lineup and the Marlins have amassed a handful of prospects that could help him do that here. I would be surprised if he were to send a large amount of them away in any deal, but I have been surprised before by Loria’s decisions.

Here at Marlins Maniac we are going to continue to scour the internet for any breaking news or even rumors that involve the Miami Marlins so you don’t have to. Of course you will get our opinions on any deals or rumors that may happen, but we want your opinions as well! Let us know what you think about any potential deals in the comment section and we would love to discuss it with everyone.

With that, let’s get the GM Meetings started!
