Welcome back to the Greatest Moments in Marlins History. By July 1992 the Marlins had a name, a place to play, some players signed, and a strong support of fans. What were we missing? Uniforms! Moment 140 is the unveiling of the Florida Marlins uniforms. On July 8, 1992 the world got to see what the baseball’s brand new team would be wearing, and in my opinion it was awesome! The mix of teal, which we would call Marlin Blue, pinstripes and silver was loud and flashy!

Some didn’t like the uniforms, but I loved them from the first moment I saw them. With that said, we cannot forget the second time the Marlins unveiled their new uniforms, 19 years later. Where the Florida Marlins revealed their new uniforms during a nice quite press conference of sorts, on November 11, 2011 the Miami Marlins made a huge splash at their press conference.

Rolling out with their orange, black, and white uniforms, the Miami Marlins were as loud and flashy, even more than the Florida Marlins, and they should be. With their new bright state-of-the-art stadium, the lights of downtown Miami, and the art deco feel in the area these new 2011 uniforms need to be flashy. Orange is also my favorite color so I had no problem with that change! Whether you love the orange or the Marlin Blue, getting new uniforms was a big step for the Marlins. Us fans finally had something to wear to show our pride for the Fish. Till next time as always… Let’s go Marlins.
