Logan Morrison is no stranger to potential rumors so far this offseason. He has been linked to numerous teams including the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals among others. It looks like you can add at least one more team to the growing list. Chris Cotillo of SB Nation has reported that the Milwaukee Brewers are expected to be interested in possibly acquiring the 26-year old.

The Brewers have a few prospects that the Marlins may be interested in. One of the more intriguing ones would be Orlando Arcia, a 19-year-old shortstop from Venezuela. Arcia is currently the seventh ranked prospect in the Brewers organization and has been steadily climbing. After a breakout campaign in rookie league which saw him post a slash line of .294/.386/.459 as a 16-year-old, he missed 2012 with an ankle injury and followed that with a disappointing season in Low A ball.

Nevertheless, He shows some promise and may be someone who the Marlins target in return for Morrison, particularly since the Brewers may be willing to part with the young shortstop after the emergence of Jean Segura at that same position last year.

Another potential target for Miami could be second baseman Scooter Gennett. The aptly named, diminutive player, seems like a poor man’s Dustin Pedroia in both size and big swing. He may not challenge for an MVP one day but he could be an everyday second baseman.

I don’t really see an easy, logical match here in a trade. The Brewers have plenty of outfield depth in their prospects, something that the Marlins don’t seem to really need. I am thinking that both sides are going tohave to get pretty creative to see something come to pass between these two teams.
