Welcome back to the Greatest Moments in Marlins History. In the Miami Marlins first year, there were high hopes held by all of us. Some thought we were going to the World Series, and they had every reason to believe that. We went out and spent the money to get the star players. We got a brand new stadium to call our own. It was going to be the year of the Marlins once again. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way. We ended the year 69-93, but moment 46 was a very bright part of that year. Today we bring you May 2012.

After starting the season 8-14, the Marlins entered May looking to bounce back. Boy did they ever. The Marlins would go on to finish the month of May with a record of 21-8. Those 21 win were a franchise record for any month. The Marlins started the month of May on a 7 game winning streak, and ended the month with a 3 game sweep of the Washington Nationals. The month was helped by a franchise record tying 12 home runs by Giancarlo Stanton, who also had another franchise tying record of 30 RBIs. Those numbers helped Stanton earn the NL Player of the Month Award. We also can’t forget Heath Bell’s 8 saves that month out of 9 attempts. This was a great month to be the Marlins.

The Marlins of 2012 had a good bounce back from a bad month, but it didn’t end well for us. In 2003 the Marlins had a bounce back and kept on going up, and it may have something to do with tomorrow’s moment. Join me and find out what exactly I’m talking about!
