New York Mets @ Miami Marlins Game Preview: 3/14/14

The Miami Marlins improved their Grapefruit League best record to 9-4 with a 4-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers yesterday in Lakeland.  The Fish return home to Jupiter for the only home night game of their spring training schedule against the New York Mets.

Toeing the rubber for the Marlins will be #5 starter hopeful, Tom Koehler, who has put together an impressive spring so far with a 1.29 ERA.  Koehler has thrown 7 innings and struck out 6 with only 1 base on balls.

The Marlins line up will be:

Casey McGehee 3B

Marcell Ozuna LF

Reed Johnson RF

Brian Bogusevic CF

Taylor Harbin 2B

With the team getting ready for their weekend trip to Panama to face the New York Yankees, they will be going with a B lineup for tonight’s game.  The outfield corners will be manned by probable #4 and #5 outfielders Reed Johnson and Brian Bogusevic.  Second base will be played by a non 40 man roster call up from the minor league side in Taylor Harbin.

Opposing the Marlins for the visiting Mets will be young right hander Zack Wheeler who has posted a perfect 0.00 ERA this spring in 6 innings pitched.

Game time will be 7:05 PM from Roger Dean Stadium and the game will be available on MLB.TV.
