MLB Power Rankings: Week 2

The Marlins had a week that they would like to forget. After failing to win a game during the entire week, the Fish took the biggest plunge in our rankings. The Tigers stayed atop the rankings but the gap has closed considerably with the Dodgers, Braves, and Brewers looking very strong.

  1. Detroit Tigers (8-4)
  2. L.A. Dodgers (9-5)
  3. Atlanta Braves (9-4)
  4. Milwaukee Brewers (10-2)
  5. San Francisco Giants (8-5)
  6. Washington Nationals (7-5)
  7. Oakland Athletics (8-4)
  8. Tampa Bay Rays (7-6)
  9. St. Louis Cardinals (7-5)
  10. New York Yankees (7-6)
  11. Chicago White Sox (7-6)
  12. Seattle Mariners (6-5)
  13. Toronto Blue Jays (7-6)
  14. Pittsburgh Pirates (6-6)
  15. L.A. Angels (6-6)
  16. Texas Rangers (6-6)
  17. Colorado Rockies (6-7)
  18. Minnesota Twins (6-6)
  19. Philadelphia Phillies (6-6)
  20. Cleveland Indians (6-7)
  21. Baltimore Orioles (5-7)
  22. Boston Red Sox (5-8)
  23. Miami Marlins (5-8)
  24. San Diego Padres (5-7)
  25. Cincinnati Reds (4-8)
  26. N.Y. Mets (5-7)
  27. Kansas City Royals (4-7)
  28. Houston Astros (5-8)
  29. Chicago Cubs (4-8)
  30. Arizona Diamondbacks (4-11)

The Marlins dropped 15 spots for our biggest fall of any team. They have looked absolutely lost during late game situations. A promising start has been quickly forgotten after such a bad week. The Red Sox also took a tumble of 7 spots and are really struggling with a Major League worst 3-7 record over their last 10 games.

On the flip side of that coin, the Brew Crew jumped 7 spots after going 9-1 in their last 10 games, including 6-0 last week. They managed a sweep of the Phillies and division rival Pirates.
