Welcome to this edition of The Good, The Going…Going…, And The Walk-Off Marlins Recap. Let us jump into the quick recap- The Good: the Marlins win; The Going…Going… 3 home runs from the Marlins; and The Walk-Off: Jeff Baker. With all those exciting words let’s take a look at the big recap.

The Good:

The Marlins won the game 5-4 and take the series from the Dodgers 2-1.  This win also adds to the Marlins Major League leading home win total to 14. It also puts the Marlins above .500 again. The win was helped by…

The Going…Going…

Gone! The Marlins hit 3 home runs this game. In the bottom of the 1st Derek Dietrich was on first and Giancarlo Stanton came up for his first at bat. Giancarlo got a hold of the ball and sent it soaring into the right field stands to give the Marlins a 2-0 lead. The Dodgers tied the game up, but Christian Yelich hit a monster shot in the 5th to give the Marlins a 3-2 lead. Again the Dodger tied the game up, but Giancarlo came up in the 6th to send the ball over the left field wall for his 10th of the season (and 11th multi homer game of his career). The Dodger once again tied it up in the 9th and it was off to the bottom for the Marlins.

The Walk-Off:

Adeiny Hechavarria started the inning with a single. Donovan Solano moved him to second on a bunt, and Yelich moved him to third with a ground out. There were 2 outs with Hech on 3rd and up come Jeff Baker. Baker dug in and got a hold of the ball. He sent it to deep right field. Yasiel Puig had a line on it jumped in the air for the ball and… hit the wall with no ball in his glove. Hech scores and the Marlins win in walk-off fashion 5-4!

Here is hoping Puig is ok. Next up for the Marlins is a 3 game home series against the Mets starting tomorrow. Join me next week and until then… Let’s Go Marlins.
