Welcome to this week’s edition of The Good, The Bad, and The Pitcher Marlins Recap. May 25, 2014, today was the 3rd game of the series against the Milwaukee Brewers . With the series all tied at 1, how did the Marlins fair against the NL Central leading Brewers? Here is the quick recap- The Good: Marcell Ozuna; The Bad: we lost; and The Pitcher: Randy Wolf.  With that done let’s get into a full recap.

The Good:

Marcell was a bright spot in today’s game. He went 2-3 with a walk, 1 R, and a RBI. Marcell walked his first at bat in the 2nd inning. His next at bat he grounded out in the 4th, but bounced back in the 6th with a single. His day capped off with a solo shot in the 9th. This gave the Marlins their only run in the game.

The Bad:

The Marlins lost 7-1 to the Brewers, allowing them to take the series 2-1. The Marlins left 8 runners on base and were 0-7 with runners in scoring position.  This was a part of what caused the Marlins to drop this game.

The Pitcher:

In Randy Wolf’s defense, he hasn’t started a game in the Majors since 2012, and is still most likely working the rust out. With that said, Randy went 5 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, and only 3 SO. In the first inning the Brewers scored 3 runs on Randy, followed by 2 in the 2nd inning, and 1 more in the 3rd. Let’s hope this was just a small bump in the road and Randy comes back strong his next outing.

Next for the Marlins is a 3 game road trip starting tomorrow against the Nationals . Until next time… Let’s Go Marlins!
