Another Sunday during baseball season can only mean one thing; welcome to this week’s edition of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Marlins Recap. Let’s hit the ground running and get this quick recap out of the way- The Good: Stanton and Casey go deep; The Bad: Marlins lose; and The Ugly: The 5th inning. Now that quick recap is out of the way let’s tackle the full recap.

The Good:

The game game started off in the Marlins favor with a solo shot in the 1st inning by Giancarlo Stanton, giving the Marlins a 1-0 lead. This would be Stanton’s 29 home run this season, which leads the National league. The Reds would put 2 runs on the board in the 1st, but Casey McGehee would tie it up with his 3rd home run of the season in the 4th. Those 2 home runs, however, would not be enough.

The Bad:

We lost to the Reds 7 -2. The Reds took the final game of the series, but the Marlins got the last laugh. The Marlins took the series 2-1. This slightly makes up for the last series and rule 7.13. Let’s move on before I start to rant.

The Ugly:

Brad Hand was holding his own until the 5th inning.  Hand gave the Reds the lead with a bases loaded walk with 2 outs. The Red took a 3-2 lead, but it would not be that for long. The next batter, Devin Mesoraco, with the count 2-1  sent the 4th pitch into the left field stands to take a 7-2 lead. That would be enough to give the Reds the win.

The Marlins return home for a 3 games series against the Cardinals. So if you are in town go cheer on our Marlins. As always…Let’s Go Marlins!
