Another Sunday in this lovely baseball season can only mean one thing. Welcome to this week’s edition of The Good, The Bad, and The Brads. Let’s start things off like we always do with a quick recap- The Good: Our bats; The Bad: We lost; and the Brads: Hand and Penny. Now that quick recap is done let’s see how this game went with a full recap.

The Good:

Our bats did have some life in them today. The Marlins got 11 hits with 3 batters having a multi hit game. The Marlins also put up 4 runs, with RBIs coming from  Christian Yelich, Jeff Baker, Jeff Mathis, and the National League leading 94 RBI getting Giancarlo Stanton. Even with all that it was not enough.

The Bad:

The Marlins lost 7-4. The Marlins also lost the series 2-1 after staring off the series with a 13-5 victory on Friday. This loss drops the Marlins record below .500, but we are still only 4 games back from the Wild Card.

The Brads:

This was not Brad Hand’s game. Hand went 4.1 innings, gave up 7 hits, 4 runs, walked 3, struck out only 3, and gave up 2 home runs in the process. The other Brad wasn’t much better. Brad Penny came in the 5th and gave the Marlins 2.1 innings while recording 6 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. This was not a good day to be named Brad on the Marlins.

Next up for the Marlins is a 3 game series against the Angels in Anaheim. Let’s root on our Marlins and see them get back over .500 and closer to that Wild Card spot! Until next time, let’s go Marlins!
