Miami Marlins: Marlins have been Impressive vs. West Lately

facebooktwitterreddit

Yep, you read that correctly. Believe it or not, for how poorly the Marlins have performed throughout these last couple of months, Miami boasts a 12-5 record against the NL West since June 1st. Maybe it’s Rich and Tommy’s “Late night with the Fish,” perhaps that explains Miami’s success against such opponents.

"Since June 1st:Record vs. Colorado: 5-2Record vs. San Francisco Giants: 3-0Record vs. Los Angeles Dodgers: 1-2Record vs. Arizona Diamondbacks: 2-1Record vs. San Diego Padres: 1-0"

Last night, Miami shut out San Diego behind Tom Koehler and four sixth inning runs. Tonight, the Marlins will face the Padres in the second game of a four-game weekend series. Dan Haren will pitch for the Fish in what may be his last start in a Marlins uniform.

San Diego Padres Lineup: Alexi Amarista (2B), Yonder Alonso (1B), Matt Kemp (RF), Justin Upton (LF), Brett Wallace (3B), Derek Norris (C), Melvin Upton Jr. (CF), Clint Barmes (SS), Andrew Cashner (P)

Miami Marlins Lineup: Ichiro Suzuki (RF), Martin Prado (2B), Christian Yelich (LF), Justin Bour (1B), Casey McGehee (3B), Cole Gillespie (CF), Adeiny Hechavarria (SS), Dan Haren (P)
