Morning Marlin Maniacs.  Week’s halfway over already, which we couldn’t be more excited about as it means we are less than a week away from the start of actual spring games.  Just because there isn’t anything on the line besides the hopes and dreams of forty people, doesn’t mean it isn’t worth tuning in; after all, baseball is baseball.

But now to the Fish Flash, your morning offering of some of the finest stories circulating around the interwebs on all things Miami Marlins. Let’s dive in.

More from Marlins News

Very proud of that Tommy Tenacious monicker.  Steve Dorsey of MLB.com sat down with the club’s most dependable arm, and provides a solid article talking up Tom Koehler’s expectations for 2016.

The magic of Spring Training- besides the ease of getting autographs and foul balls- is the unrelenting optimism.  From the very youngest of fans to the most gristled of veterans, everyone gets to spend six weeks believing this year is the year.  The Miami Herald’s Greg Cote writes a brilliant piece capturing that enthusiasm, outlining plenty of reasons Marlins fans should start reaching for the Kool-Aid in 2016.  Fear not thought.  I’m sure Armando Salguero will have a wet blanket follow-up out shortly to bring you back to Earth.

And lastly, as detailed by Clark Spencer of the Herald, new manager Don Mattingly apparently made quite the impression on the first day of full squad workouts with his first clubhouse address.  If you don’t get chills from the reactions players and staffers shared with Spencer, just go ahead and watch this instead.
