Happy Jose Day, Marlin Maniacs.  May it be the first of at least thirty such holidays this season.  For make no mistake, even in a spring training contest, watching the Miami Marlins talented phenom take the hill is a day all baseball fans should celebrate.

We’ll start your week off right with a smattering of stories from the weekend, and will be on Twitter offering live updates of the Jose innings; after that we might admittedly switch to Peyton Manning’s retirement.

Stanton’s Knee Flares Up  

Just in from Joe “Good News” Frisaro, Giancarlo Stanton looks to be looking at some missed time this week, starting with this afternoon’s Jose Day tilt against the Nationals.  And unfortunately, this has nothing to do with any freak miscues, but the rather the potential resurfacing of an old health issue.

Capps’ Elbow Again A Concern 

Lastly, we wrap with an acknowledgement that Miami Marlins reliever Carter Capps is facing some concerns over his throwing elbow.  This would obviously be a huge blow to the rotation, and while the story broke late last week, we throw you a link from ESPN to demonstrate that at one point, there was a point to our analysis of the closer competition in this week’s RTD.
