Break out the brooms Marlin Maniacs.  After a rocky first inning, the Miami Marlins were able to come through for their third come from behind victory in the series, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3. With the win, Jose Fernandez picks up his second win of the season, and the Marlins move back to within a game of .500 thanks to their recent five-game winning streak.

More from Marlins News

Fernandez overcame a rough first inning in which he surrendered two runs, and finished the night with eight strikeouts over six innings of work.  Kyle Barraclough and David Phelps continued their recent run of dominance, and Miami would not allow another run until the 9th, though that was not enough to keep A.J. Ramos from wrapping up his sixth save of 2016.

J.T. Realmuto got the Marlins on the board early with his second homer, and that would be all the offense Miami could muster off of Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda until a three-run 7th.  Giancarlo Stanton would tack on some insurance an inning later with his seventh home run of the season, and third of the road trip.

And now we Stat Wrap:

  • The Marlins swept the Dodgers in LA for the first time ever.
  • Stanton hit his seventh home run of the season.
  • Martin Prado went 3 for 5, and is batting .381.
  • Christian Yelich has been on base every game this season- still.
  • Realmuto hit his second homer, and has a five-game hit streak.
  • Ramos gave up his first ER of the year, spiking his ERA to…1.00.
  • Not enough to derail three innings of three-hit relief though.
  • Last five-game win streak for Miami? September 27, 2015.
  • First time this year the Marlins have had three quality starts in a row from their staff.
