Morning Marlin Maniacs, and welcome to Wednesday.  The past weekend saw my home entertain multiple out of town guests, and my shattered psyche entertain dreams of a universe without the Atlanta Braves or Yoenis Cespedes.  But we are back to our regularly scheduled Marlins based programming, with plenty to announce and report on as work our way through baseball’s most news-filled month.

More from Marlins News

So for this morning’s Fish Flash, the common theme is All-Stars.  From this year’s crop of candidates, to the Marlins perennial All-Star slugger’s thoughts on his All-Star coach, to an injury that will push a top player out until the All-Star Break, we’ve got you covered.  Time to dive in.

Big G’s Thoughts On Coach Barry

ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt chatted up Marlins star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton on team hitting coach Barry Bonds, who rumor has it has hit a few home runs himself.

Worth a look, and here’s hoping that last night’s Stanton-powered fireworks show carries through the rest of the week.

Four Fish In Midsummer Classic

The Miami Herald’s Andre C. Fernandez runs down how the 2016 class of Marlins All-Stars found out the news they were taking a trip to San Diego next week, detailing the names going and the campaigns that got them there.  Just the kind of thing to get you fired up for next Tuesday.

Bour On The Shelf

Lastly, we have to lay some bad news out as well.  The Marlins will have a Justin Bour sized hole in their lineup until after the All-Star Break, as MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro and many others are confirming that the team has placed their power-hitting first baseman on the 15-day DL.
