Giancarlo Stanton named to First All-Star Game, Lone Marlin Going


Major League Baseball announced the 2012 All-Star Game rosters on Sunday, and Giancarlo Stanton was selected as a reserve to represent the Marlins in the Midsummer Classic, which will be held at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Stanton will be the lone Marlin headed to the Mid-Summer classic.
Stanton will also participate in the home run derby, which he confirmed earlier in the week.
Before the beginning of the month of June, there was a strong argument for Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante making a trip to Kansas City as well. A arguement could have been made for Hanley Ramirez and Jose Reyes, but they were more of long shots then the other two.
