The 2012 season may not have ended the way that the Miami Marlins initially thought it might, especially after a busy and expensive offseason highlighted by the opening of a brand new stadium and the debut of the team’s new face moving forward, but anytime an organization undergoes a period of transition there are bound to be a few bumps in the road. Marlin Maniac is finding itself in somewhat of a transition period as well. Marlin Maniac is focused on providing quality coverage on all things Marlins related – news, rumors, insight, and analysis – and our goal is to be part of your daily reading, but we need your help so we’re looking for a few qualified individuals to join the MM team.
Think you’ve got what it takes to help cover the Marlins?
Whether you’re a hardcore fan of the Marlins looking for a hobby or someone aspiring to establish a career in sports writing, Marlin Maniac is willing to give you a chance. Prior writing/blogging experience isn’t necessarily required (though it doesn’t hurt), all we really ask is that you’re passionate and knowledgeable about the team. We’re searching for individuals comfortable meeting the following expectations:
> Commit to at least one column a week. More is always welcome.
> Help promote and grow the site by engaging our readers through social media (specifically Twitter and Facebook).
We try to cover all aspects of the organization, so there’s always room to bring someone aboard who’d prefer to cover certain aspects of the team – from the minor leagues to stadium promotions and everything in between. We can’t offer any monetary compensation for our Staff Writer position, but there are a number of other non-monetary benefits to joining the FanSided Network and the Marlin Maniac team, including some great exposure for your writing.
If you are interested in applying or simply interested in learning more, head on over and complete our network’s application. Be sure to let us know what you feel you could bring to the table that would help grow Marlin Maniac into one of the best Marlins sites available. One of our Editorial Directors will be in touch from there.
