The Miami Marlins offensive ineptitude has reached all new levels to start the 2013 season. The team has scored NO runs on just seven hits through 18 innings against National pitching. The Marlins will not only be looking to avoid a sweep on Thursday, they will look to make sure they are not the first team in Major League history to get shutout in three straight games to start a season.
Casey Kotchman is expected to be out of the lineup today after he sustained a hamstring injury. The Marlins listed him day-to-day. The team does not expect him to be out for a prolonged time.
