Game Recap: Miami Marlins Offense Explodes Against The New York Mets

One thing I learned from tonight’s Marlins game: At least we don’t look like Smurfs, and , “‘Hey, at least we aren’t the Mets. ” After tonight’s game, the Marlins look like they are capable of winning any game…as long as we play the Mets.  The Mets have given the Marlins their first win of the season on a VERY windy night at Citi Field.  This win game ends a three game losing streak in which the Marlins only scored one run.  The Fish brought the lumber, the good mojo and scored six runs to beat the Mets 7-5 on a masterpiece thrown by Alex Sanabia.

Another interesting aspect of the game…the strange fan dressed as a viking seated in the second row at Citi Field. What is it with the odd costumes that come out for Mets games? First the sad baby face guy, now the viking.

Back to the game…Chad Qualls comes in and almost screws it up….thanks Qualls, the Phillies DON’T miss you!  Way to give up a three run HR to Daniel Murphy!  Don’t EVEN get me started on A.J. Ramos, YIKES!  At least Greg Dobbs was awesome with a HR in the first inning and Justin Ruggiano was awesome with a double in the top of the seventh inning.  Giancarlo hit a double that caused Polanco to get thrown out at home (Doh!)  and Ruggiano hits a nice single that scores Giancarlo Stanton in the 9th.  The Mets would try to squeeze out an attempt to win in the bottom of the 9th when Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Lucas Duda single to score two runs each but, then, the great and powerful Steve Cishek, who sells seashells by the seashore, closes the door on whatever hope the Mets had to preserve the 7-5 win.   The first win for Marlins skipper Mike Redmond!

The Marlins WIN!!!! YAY!  First win of the season.

Till next time kids.

Go Marlins!!!!
