Marlin Maniac’s Miami Marlins Player of the Week (4/1/13 to 4/7/13)
Last week I asked you guys who you thought the player of the week for the Miami Marlins was for the opening week. The choices included Greg Dobbs, Rob Brantly, Justin Ruggiano, or Donovan Solano? Or will you go with one of the three Marlins pitchers: Ricky Nolasco, Wade LeBlanc, and Jose Fernandez.

Here are the results for the first ever Marlin Maniac player of the week:
Jose Fernandez was the overwhelming choice as he delivered a great major league debut for the Fish. Fernandez fired five innings against the New York Mets, striking out eight hitters, while allowing just two hits and walking one hitter. Ultimately, Fernandez did not pick up the win, as the Steve Cishek came in and blew a one-run lead in the ninth.
Even with his team getting off to an awful 1-9 start, Fernandez proved to Marlins fans that there will be bright spots for the team in 2013. Fernandez has arrived to the big leagues and is ready to become a cornerstone piece for the Marlins franchise.
We will have a poll for the MM player of the week up tomorrow morning. Please tweet your nominees with a #MarlinManiacPlayeroftheWeek on Twitter. You can also leave your nominees in the comment section.
