Down on the Farm Report for the Miami Marlins: June 2nd
New Orleans Zephyrs (27-29) @ Iowa Cubs (24-31)
Bryan Petersen, RF: 5-for-7, 2B (14), 4 RBI, 2 R
Kevin Mattison, CF: 4-for-6, 2 2B (7), RBI, BB, SO, 2 R
Kyle Skipworth, C: 2-for-7, 2B (2), 3B (1), RBI, R, 2 SO
Duane Below, SP: 4.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R, ER, BB, 4 SO, HR
Zach Phillips, RP: 3.0 IP, BB, 3 SO
Petersen had himself a huge game, collecting five hits for the Zephyrs in a 10-5 extra inning win. He upped his season slash line to .275/.372/.396. He continues to hit really well in Triple-A, but has not hit consistently in the majors. Nice game for Mattison to bounce back from his six strikeout performance Saturday.
Double-A: Mobile BayBears (30-27) @ Jacksonville Suns (29-26)
Christian Yelich, CF: 0-for-3, SO
Kyle Jensen, RF: 2-for-4, HR (9), RBI, R
Logan Morrison, 1B: 0-for-4
Sam Dyson, SP: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, ER, 5 SO
Scott McGough, RP: 2.0 IP, 3 H, ER, SO
Archie Bradley got the start for the BayBears and did not have his best stuff, as he allowed three hits and walked five hitters in six innings of work. He did limit the damage to just two runs and struck out four Suns, including Christian Yelich.
Yelich was held hit-less and left the game seventh due to abdominal discomfort. Manager Andy Barkett indicated that his removal from the game was a precautionary move. Yelich is doubtful to play tomorrow night.
