The long awaited and much anticipated return of the @LoMoMarlins twitter account to the major leagues is finally upon us.  The Miami Marlins activated Logan Morrison from the 60-day disabled list this morning and added him to the active roster.  To make room, the Marlins placed Chris Coghlan on the 15-day DL with a nerve irritation in this calf.  Lomo took to twitter to announce his return:

Morrison has been on the DL all season recovering from knee surgery performed last September.  He was immediately inserted into the lineup for today’s game versus the Mets and will hit fifth in the order.  Hopefully he can find his stroke at the big league level because his stats during a 16 game minor league rehab assignment do not suggest he is ready.  Lomo hit just .179 with two home runs in 56 at-bats between Single A Jupiter and Double A Jacksonville.

Unfortunately for Chris Coghlan the injury bug has struck once again.  Coghlan had been on fire over the last 30 games with a .347/.390/.547 slash line and had forced his way into the everyday lineup.  The plan was to have him begin working at 3B once the Marlins returned home which would have helped keep him in the lineup everyday.  All plans are now on hold until he can recover from this latest setback in what has been a career full of injuries.

The Marlins should be getting more good news Monday as it appears that outfielder Giancarlo Stanton could also be activated from the DL according to manager Mike Redmond.  Redmond also mentioned that pitcher Henderson Alvarez is about ready to begin a rehab assignment.

The Marlins finally appear to be getting healthy, stay tuned for the latest updates
