The Miami Marlins will travel to Arizona fresh off their first series win against a team not named the New York Mets. The Marlins offense, led by Giancarlo Stanton, came to life against the Cards, scoring 19 runs in the three game series and picking up 10+ hits in every game of the series. Jacob Turner will take the mound for the Marlins in the first game of the series. Turner has had a solid return to the majors for the Fish so far. He struggled during spring training and was not performing at his best with the Zephyrs in AAA. Turner pitched seven innings in his last outing against the Brewers. He struck out six hitters and allowed three earned runs on five hits.
The Diamondbacks will counter with Patrick Corbin. Corbin is undefeated on the season and has a sparkling 2.28 ERA. While he does not strike many hitters out, he limits base runners by not walking too many hitters. In his last start, Corbin gave up four runs on eight hits Wednesday while striking out two over five innings against the Dodgers.
