Triple-A:

Iowa Cubs (47-46) @ New Orleans Zephyrs (44-48)

Win 9-0

Jordan Brown, 1B: 3-for-5, 2B (9). RBI, R

Doug Mathis, SP: 7.0 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 7 SO

The Zephyrs offense had a breakout game, collecting nine runs on 15 hits, including four extra base hits. Petersen led the offensive charge, picking up four hits and driving in two runs. He reached base five times in the game. Petersen owns a .279/.366/.418 slash line for the season and might have already seen time in the majors if he was on the 40-man roster.

Double-A:

Jacksonville Suns (43-42)

Scheduled Off Day

A loss to the hands to top prospect Byron Buxton and the Miracle dropped the Hammerheads to .500 for the season. The Miracles hit Jake Esch hard early in the game, scoring two runs in each of the first two innings. The Hammerheads offense struck out 10 times in this game and collected eight hits.

Low Class A:

Greensboro Grasshoppers (42-45) @ Lexington Legends (44-41)

Jesus Solorzano, RF: 1-for-4, HR (10), 3 RBI

Viosergy Rosa, 1B: 2-for-4, 2B

Scott Lyman, SP: 8 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K

Daniel Oliver, RP: 1.0 IP

Lyman had himself a dominating outing, striking out seven hitters and allowing just two earned runs on three hits in his eight innings of work. Also in the game, Jesus Solorzano hit his 10th homer of the season and only the second of the season on the road. He owns a .279/.325/.436 slash with career highs in homers, stolen bases, and walks. He is striking out too much still, but that could be improved with more playing time.
