The Miami Marlins will look to keep up their impressive 10-game homestand against the visiting Cleveland Indians this weekend. The Marlins have gone 4-3 in the first seven games of the homestand and are poised to finish the homestand strong if they can take down the Indians.

Jose Fernandez will be on the mound for the Marlins tonight. Fernandez is coming off his best start as a major leaguer, as he struck out 13 hitters and walked none his last time out against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Ubaldo Jimenez will be countering for the Indians, and while his 1.32 ERA in the second half looks nice, his 4.75 xFIP paints a different portrait. For a more indepth look Jimenez’s scouting report, check out the chat I had with Brian Heise this morning. Brian is the editor of the Indians FS site, Wahoos on First.

Bold Prediction: Have to feel confident every time that Jose Fernandez takes the mound, even against a team that has plated as well as the Indians have recently. Fernandez fires eight more scoreless innings and the Marlins offense does enough to get him a victory. Marlins win 4-0!
