Miami Marlins @ Pittsburgh Pirates Preview: Monday, August 6th 7:05PM EST (Game 110)
The Miami Marlins will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates to begin their 10-game road trip, which will include stops in Atlanta and Kansas City. The Marlins have played well of late, going 27-24 in the past two months after opening the season at 13-31.
Henderson Alvarez will be on the bump for the Fish in this one. In his last start against the Pirates, Alvarez fired a strong game, striking out five in six innings without allowing a run. He will look to do the same tonight, but will need some run support from a frailing lineup.
Jeff Locke will be going against Alvarez for the Pirates. In his last start against the Marlins, Locke did not have his best stuff. He struck out nine Marlins, but also walked six and allowed eight hits in 6 2/3 innings. The Marlins offense was only able to plate two runs off of Locke.
