Welcome back to the Greatest Moments in Marlins History. The Lou Brock Award, Gold Gloves, Silver Sluggers, and Manager of the Years; what award could be left? Well… how about Rookie of the Year? For moment 94 we take you back to 2009, the year Chris Coghlan became Rookie of the Year!

On May 8, 2009 Chris got to play his first Major League game. Chris went 2-4 with 2 singles, a run, and a walk. It was a pretty good first game, and it only went up from there. For the season Chris recorded 162 hits, 84 runs, 31 double, 6 triples, 9 home runs, 47 RBIs, and a batting average of .321.  These numbers kept him in the top 10 of all rookie categories that year. He also led all the rookies in runs, double, hits, and batting average. What a rookie year!

Injuries have plagued Chris since his rookie year, and only time will tell if he is able to bounce back to the Chris of old. This Marlins fan hopes so. One Rookie of the Year down and a few more to go. Join me tomorrow and see what rookie star we will be talking about next. Is your favorite rookie next? There is only one way to find out.
