Today we will preview the Miami Marlins second exhibition game on their spring training schedule, the Golden Eagles of FIU. Florida Internationl University is off to a good 2014, and they are being led by one of the top catchers in the game, Aramis Garcia. FIU has posted a 9-0 record and is currently gearing up for conference play in Conference USA.

The Marlins lineup today looks like this:

Donovan Solano – Shortstop
Derek Dietrich – Second Base
Marcel Ozuna – Center Field
Jeff Baker – Third Base
Gregg Dobbs – First Base
Ty Wigginton – DH
Kyle Jenson – Left Field
Matt Angle – Right Field
Kyle Skipworth – Catcher
Justin Nicolino – Pitcher

A couple of interesting notes. This is the second straight game that Giancarlo Stanton and Adeiny Hechavarria will not start. That is likely due to the exhibition nature of the game. Many of the players that are playing are going to be minor leaguers, with the exception of Dobbs, Ozuna, Baker and Wigginton.

Look for Nicolino to throw 2 innings today, as the Marlins will likely parade out a host of pitchers again today. This game doesn’t matter (even less than the games in the grapefruit league) but they will allow the Marlins to get some live reps in, and hopefully create a positive memory for the kids from FIU.

There is no television and radio for this game, but we will still do our best to provide updates on our Facebook page, so make sure to like us and keep up with the Fish!
