On April 1, 2014 MTV2 premiered their new show Off The Bat from the MLB Fan Cave. Boy did the series start off with a smash! Our own Giancarlo Stanton filmed a segment with one of their hosts, the lovely Melanie Iglesias. What did Giancarlo smash?

They started the segment with that amazing shot of Giancarlo breaking the Marlins score board. So to what safer place did they go for batting practice so Giancarlo doesn’t break another million dollar piece of equipment? How about a junk yard! Melanie set up a tee and let Giancarlo go to town. Giancarlo crushed some balls, hitting metal and windows. Melanie looked scared each time Giancarlo smashed a ball. Luckily she was on the other side of the tee, so she was safe. Yet even in a junk yard Giancarlo finds a way to break an electronic device. It may not have been a million dollar camera, but one of the cameras filming in a car felt the wrath of his power. He hit the camera dead on and destroyed the camera. After a few swings it was Melanie’s turn. In good sportsmanship Giancarlo cheered Melanie on saying that she hit a ball further then his last hit. He even searched through a car for one of his hit balls signed it for her. Smashing segment!

What a way to start the show off! Here is to many more great episodes, and to many more Marlins players making appearances. So tune every Tuesday at 11 pm on MTV2 and don’t forget to support our Marlins Fan rep Cesar Pichardo. Until next time, let’s go Marlins!
