Maybe you were busy last night and didn’t get to catch the spectacular show that Jose Fernandez put on for the crowd in Atlanta. Or maybe you live in an area that suffers from MLB.TV blackout whenever the Fish play the Braves. Or maybe you watched it live but wanted to recap a glorious evening for Marlins’ fans everywhere.

MLB.com has just what you need. Check out this video that they posted of Fernandez’s 14 strikeouts. The good news is it is only about a minute and a half of pure domination.

When watching his start over, I was impressed by how quickly he struck out hitters. Particularly during the devastating 4th and 5th innings in which he notched 6 strikeouts, he only went to a 2-2 count once. The rest of the hitters were dispatched with either one ball or no balls thrown. For him to get 14 strikeouts and still throw 8 innings is incredibly impressive. It is so rare to see, largely due to the sheer amount of pitches that it takes to strike out professional hitters.

With Jose leading the way, the Marlins won their first road game of the year and will look to win the series against the division leading Braves this afternoon.
