A few weeks ago rapper 50 Cent quite possibly threw one of, if not the worst, first pitch ever. After some ribbing over the past few weeks MTV2 Off The Bat sent Fat Joe to throw out a first pitch. Where did they send him? They sent him to Marlins Park, where he got a lesson on how to pitch from A.J. Ramos. Let’s recap this fun segment.

The segment started with Fat Joe welcoming the viewers back as he stood inside the bullpen at Marlins Park. He was standing there with A.J. talking about how he cannot be like 50 and could use all the help he can. Have no fear, A.J. was here to make sure that doesn’t happen. After showing Joe the easiest way to hold a baseball (looked like a four seam grip to me) , he hopped on the mound and told Joe to lean back, lean back, lean back (I think Joe knows how to do that). Joe threw a few warm up pitches and got one down the plate. It was time for the game to start and Joe went out on to the mound ready to throw out the first pitch. He wound up and… bounced the ball into the left side batter’s box. After a bleeped out word from Joe, A.J. laughed and told him at least he didn’t hit anybody.  It might not have been the prettiest first pitch but A.J. was right, Joe would not go down in history like 50.

Keep watching MLB Off The Bat to see which Marlin might pop up next, especially with our road trip to visit the Mets in July. Until then… Let’s Go Marlins!
