Fans, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Finally, Giancarlo Stanton (barring injury) will be crushing home runs on national television during this year’s Home Run Derby.
Troy Tulowitzki said in an interview that he has talked with Giancarlo and that he has agreed to represent the National league in the home run contest.
Giancarlo Stanton mashing baseballs is nothing new to us Marlins fans, and he’s been good enough to be in the home run derby for years. Last year, he was horrible in April and missed all of May, making him a tough candidate. In 2012, he was selected for the Derby but missed it due to a knee surgery the day before.
This year, we finally get to see him go out there and prove that he has the most raw power in all of baseball, something we’ve known for a long time. There’s no doubt in my mind that if Stanton shows up, he will win easily. This guy is a monster, and he belongs in the NFL. Luckily, we get to see him swing a baseball bat instead, I can’t wait to see him put on a show for ESPN.
