Marlin Maniac has steadily grown as FanSided’s home for Miami Marlins coverage dating back to when the site was first launched in June 2009. Marlins fans have seen their share of complete overhauls to the team’s roster in that timeframe and we too have seen numerous changes to the staff here on site. One constant has always remained our goal, however: to give you folks, our readers, the very best Marlins discussion that we possibly can.
The 2015 season is rapidly approaching and as the fish prepare to start playing games that count we’re also looking to get ready for the coming year. That is where you come in.
Consider yourself a passionate fan? Read us or other Marlins sites with regularity and ever wonder if you should write about the team too? Maybe you’re just stumbling across us for the very first time and you like what you see. We are looking to add to our staff here on site and this could be your chance to grab a bat and join the team.
Expectations
We like to let our staff write about the aspects of the team they are most passionate about. There’s room for those interested in covering the minor leagues. Maybe you’re more of a transaction junkie and you want to talk about the impact a new signing could have or what the team should do before the upcoming trade deadline. Or perhaps you just want to chip in on series previews, roundtable staff discussions about future contract concerns, or helping with any number of other potential story ideas. There could be a place here for you on our team.

Writers are asked to contribute 1-2 posts per week. We’ll always welcome more frequent contributions, but we won’t require it.
We know that for most this is mainly a hobby and something you’re going to do for the love of it. That’s why we do it too. Most of us have families, full-time careers and/or school, and plenty of other obligations to balance into our lives (there’s room for things besides baseball, right?). This is an opportunity to join a staff of writers here who are just simply passionate about the Marlins and want to continue to reach the rest of this great fan base.

Applying is very easy. Head on over and complete an application. It’ll give you a chance to share some insight into your background (prior online writing experience is not necessary but always encouraged) and let us know why you’d be a fit on site, so give it your best. We’ll be in touch from there.
