Yes, Tom Koehler.  That big fella certainly can go boom.

Yesterday, the Miami Marlins lost to the Minnesota Twins 8-4, and have now lost two in a row.  And you really, really shouldn’t remotely care.  Because this happened.

Giancarlo Stanton

is warming up, just in time for the season.  In a game lost late, all the stats that

were

worth caring about happened early, and give plenty of reason to hope 2016 can be a lot more fun to watch than 2015.  And it’s not just Giancarlo we’re talking about.  Just take a look at the Stat Wrap.

More from Marlins News

  • Stanton hit his second homer of the spring and past 48 hours.
  • Marcell Ozuna returned to the lineup, going 1 for 2.
  • If you haven’t drafted yet, he’s hitting .387 this spring.
  • Adam Conley‘s line: 5IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 4Ks.  He’s been great.
  • Brad Hand was Brad Hand. 4 ERs in the 8th to earn the loss.
  • J.T. Realmuto had a stellar day, going 3 for 3.
  • Martin Prado went 0 for 3, dropping to .189 this spring.
  • But he has no need to worry, because Derek Dietrich is .111.
  • Adeiny Hechavarria went 1 for 2, raising his average to .400; he’s the wild card in this Miami Marlins offense if he has one more gear to show.
