The Miami Marlins fell to Trevor Bauer and the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday evening.

That wasn’t the only thing going in the Miami Marlins organization yesterday. There were three games scheduled in the Marlins minor league feeder system.

Triple-A Pacific Coast League

New Orleans Baby Cakes 3, Memphis Redbirds 1

Hector Noesi (3-1, 1.29) started for New Orleans (15-10) and struck out seven batters in six shutout five-hit innings for the victory. With 2,366 in attendance at Shrine on Airline and an 81° partly cloudy day in the cards, Noesi continued his hot start to the season. He now has 37 K’s and has allowed only four runs on 19 hits in 28 innings. The Cakes are only a half-game out of first place in the PCL American Southern Division, behind the San Antonio Missions.

Just off the injured list, Jeff Brigham allowed the only Redbirds (13-12) run of the day in the seventh. Tommy Eveld allowed a hit but struck out the side in the eighth, and R.J. Alvarez pitched a clean ninth for his fifth save of the season.

The Cakes scored their runs in the sixth inning on a three-run homer off the bat of Matt Snyder, his third of the year. Memphis notched their run in the seventh, but couldn’t get close again.

Elieser Hernandez will start for the Cakes tonight at 7:30PM against the Redbirds.

Double-A Southern League

Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp

At 10-15, the Jumbo Shrimp are in firm control of last place in the SL Southern Division. The only winning team in the SL South is the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, at 17-8. After an off-day, the Shrimp will open a five-game set against the Mississippi Braves (10-13). Newly arrived Josh Roeder will take his turn on the hill.

Advanced-A Florida State League

Jupiter Hammerheads 1, Bradenton Marauders 8

In the opener of a three-game series, the 7-17 Hammerheads managed just four hits against the 17-8 Marauders with 440 fans in the house at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
