Marlins Braves face off again today as Sixto Sanchez takes the mound against Braves Kyle Wright. Kyle Wright currently carries with him a 7.20 ERA in 4 starts this year and has yet to live up to his potential as a 5th overall pick. The Marlins offense has been able to put up offense pitchers like Wright all season long so I don’t expect it to slow down today. Meanwhile starting for the Marlins is star prospect Sixto Sanchez who has far exceeded any hype you had for him going into the season. The rookie has made 3 starts only allowing 5 earned over that time frame. The 99MPH fastball has been electric paired with his elite changeup. He takes the mound for the first time ever against the Braves and will continue facing them routinely for the next decade.
The Marlins have a chance to take the series with a win today and if Sixto performs as he has and the offense can provide run support it should be an easy MARLINS win! The Marlins currently sit 3.5 games back from the Braves and every game against the division leader is crucial. With the Phillies & Braves having obvious flaws with their bullpen and starting pitchers respectively the Marlins are poised to win their first and elusive NL East division title. As Don Mattingly always says it is pennant race baseball.
Vegas says Marlins (+105) are slight underdogs today with a team total runs at around 4.5. The Sixto Sanchez effect is already in play with the Vegas lines.
Free Bet of the Day:
Yesterday we continued the streak making the official record 2-0 and hopefully we can continue the streak. Today I like Atlanta Braves under 3.5 runs scored at (+160). It’s definitely a difficult one to stomach, but I believe that Sixto can go 7 innings and suppress the Atlanta offense.
Marlins beat Braves in Extras
Marlins Braves faced off against the red hot Atlanta Braves and was able to secure a 5-4 win in extras as they advance to 18-18 on the season.
