Miami Marlins: OF Jesus Sanchez selected to MLB Prospect Team of the Week

With the minor league baseball season now fully underway, there are numerous top Miami Marlins prospects that are off to phenomenal starts to the season. There is one however in particular that his start at the plate has already earned himself an honor this early into the season.

The Miami Marlins minor league affiliates’ seasons are now fully underway with a few of the organizations top prospects off to hot starts at the plate and on the mound. As mentioned previously however, one in particular is off to a better start than anyone.

If you seen any of Jacksonville’s games, highlights, or box scores from this past week, you already know that the player in question is OF Jesus Sanchez.

MLB.com’s Prospect Team of the Week has returned for the first time since 2019 with the return of the minor league baseball season, and after watching Sanchez dominate Triple-A for the past week, you couldn’t possible think he wouldn’t be on it, right?

Sanchez has been selected to the Prospect Team of the Week for the first time in his career, and judging by the way he keeps hitting, may be the last.

No, that doesn’t mean he will be left off, it means that we could very soon see Sanchez with the big league club if he continues current trends.

The Miami Marlins #6 prospect according to MLB Pipeline had a phenomenal week for the Jumbo Shrimp posting a .556/.571/1.074 line in six games. Sanchez also scored six runs to combine with a double, two triples, 3 HRs, and 12 RBIs.

Sanchez had a hit in all six games, which included an outstanding performance on Wednesday where he went 5-5 with a 3B, HR, and 4 RBIs.

Miami Marlins #5 prospect 1B Lewin Diaz also received votes at the first base position.
