The Miami Marlins have won their 3rd straight against the Phillies, 9-6. Miami has now won 5 of their last 6 games to move one game behind the division-leading Mets.

Trevor Rogers took the mound tonight for the Miami Marlins, pitching five innings and allowing 1 earned run with 5 K’s.

Adam Cimber received the win for the Marlins after pitching the sixth inning.

Brian Anderson left the game in the third inning, due to shoulder soreness that came after he slid headfirst into third base the previous inning. He was seen stretching his arm out after the slide, and is listed day-to-day.

Jon Berti came in to replace Anderson and did very well going 2 for 3 with a run.

The bats came alive for the Fish in sixth inning with Corey Dickerson knocking in 2-run triple to make the game 4-2 Marlins.

In the seventh, the Marlins continued to extend their lead when Jesus Aguilar singled to bring in a run. Then came Adam Duvall that went yard for a three-run homer, his 9th HR of the season to make it 8-2 Marlins.

For good measure, the hottest man in Miami, Garrett Cooper had an RBI single in the eighth. Cooper went 2 for 2 tonight, continuing his impressive run at the plate.

The Miami Marlins withstand a Phillies late inning comeback.

The Phillies did not let the Marlins coast their way to victory though. Shawn Morimando came in the top of the ninth and allowed four earned runs in his first outing since 2018.

After Morimando pitched 2/3 of the ninth, Mattingly decided to bring out Dylan Floro to earn the save, which he did.

Jazz Chisholm‘s recent struggles continued finished the game 0-5 with 3 SO, making him 1-13 with 1 RBI in his last 3 games. Hopefully, the rookie finds a way to shake the frost off his bat, especially if Anderson has to miss some time due to his shoulder.

The Marlins hope to continue their winning ways tomorrow at home against the Phillies again at 6:40 pm et.
